Bailey D. Barnes

Bailey joined Galligan & Newman in 2021 and primarily practices in the areas of personal injury, products liability, medical malpractice, employment discrimination, civil rights, and complex litigation. Bailey previously clerked for the United States Magistrate Judges for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. Bailey is a published legal and historical scholar with publications in many respected journals including the Buffalo Law Review, Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly, Creighton Law Review, Maine Law Review, University of New Hampshire Law Review, University of Louisville Law Review, Dartmouth Law Journal, Boston University Public Interest Law Journal, Tennessee Bar Journal, Tennessee Journal of Leadership, Law and Policy, Tennessee Journal of Race, Gender, & Social Justice, Genocide Studies International, Journal of East Tennessee History, and Tennessee Historical Quarterly.

Bailey is a lifelong resident of Warren County. His father owns and operates a local nursery and his mother is a teacher at West Elementary in McMinnville. Bailey lives in Rock Island with his wife, Larissa, and their energetic Australian Shepherd, Benji Miguel. Bailey enjoys spending time with his family, reading, writing, and rooting for the Boston Celtics, Tennessee Volunteers, Nashville SC, and Tennessee Titans.
