Bailey Barnes
About
Bailey serves as of counsel at Galligan & Newman, where his practice focuses on civil rights, products liability, medical malpractice, and complex civil litigation, with a particular emphasis on matters in federal court.
Bailey previously clerked for the Honorable J. Daniel Breen of the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee and the Honorable Jay S. Bybee of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Before his clerkships, he practiced as an associate with Galligan & Newman.
In addition to his practice, Bailey is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Missouri School of Law, where he teaches Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, and Federal Courts. His scholarship focuses on civil rights litigation and federal courts, and his research has been published or is forthcoming in journals including the Minnesota Law Review, Washington Law Review, and Tennessee Law Review.
Bailey lives in Columbia, Missouri, with his wife, Larissa, and he remains a proud native of the Upper Cumberland.
